May 28, 2013 – The Claims Conference has negotiated an agreement under which the German government has committed to provide approximately $1 billion over a four-year period for homecare for Jewish Holocaust victims, with the annual amount increasing every year through 2017. Helping survivors After Hurricane Sandy
With the region’s recovery from the storm slow and continuing for some time, the Claims Conference has been working on numerous fronts to assist survivors and generate awareness about their plight as well as that of agencies in affected areas. Germany and Claims Conference Agree on Continued Payments, Homecare for Holocaust Survivors to Mark 60 Years of Compensation Agreements
The government of Germany has committed through an agreement signed with the Claims Conference at a public ceremony, to continue compensation payments to eligible Holocaust survivors and providing funding for homecare for elderly victims.
