Education Programs

Seminars or workshops (including virtual/hybrid) for middle and high school students, and pre-approved groups including security forces, clergy, journalists, civil servants, influencers, etc.

Not eligible for funding:

  • Student trips to Israel and Holocaust-Related sites
  • Development of stand-alone curricula, unless there is an exceptional demonstrated need and audience

Educator Training Programs Without Visits to Holocaust-related Sites

Seminars or workshops for formal or informal educators, who are in the position to use the subject in a related educational setting.

Influencers, administrators, museum executives and government officials may be included.

Programs must be more than one day in length (may be non-consecutive).

Applications should include:

  • Defined target group and corresponding eligibility criteria (e.g., participants must be at least 5 years away from retirement, committed and able to apply knowledge gained during the training into the classroom, and teach age-appropriate students)
  • Description of pedagogy and methodological content
  • Proposed participant contribution toward the program

Not eligible for funding:

  • Pre-service/student teachers
  • Retired educators

Educator Training Programs With Visits to Holocaust-related Sites

Seminars or workshops for formal or informal educators, who are in the position to use the subject in a related educational setting

Influencers, administrators, museum executives and government officials may be included

The program must include educational preparatory sessions, readings, and follow-up sessions.

Applications should include:

  • Defined target group and corresponding eligibility criteria (e.g., participants must be at least 5 years away from retirement, teach age-appropriate students, and have not participated in a similar program previously)
  • Detailed itinerary explaining the educational significance of each site related to program goals
  • Description of pedagogy and methodological content of program and its application for the classroom
  • Inclusion of post-trip commitment to share learning acquired during visit
  • Dedicated time for reflection and discussion
  • Proposed participant contribution toward the program

Generally, the Claims Conference will only fund up to 1/3 of the total cost of a program with significant travel to authentic Holocaust-related sites.

Not eligible for funding:

  • Pre-service/student teachers
  • Retired educators
