The Provenance Research Training Program (PRTP) focuses on provenance research (documenting the ownership history of an object from inception to the present day) and related issues concerning Nazi-looted art, Judaica, and other cultural property. It provides advanced training to serve experts worldwide who deal with issues concerning Nazi-era cultural plunder and promotes the establishment of international networks of provenance researchers.

The inaugural workshop was held in June 2012 in Magdeburg, Germany. Since then, workshops have been held in Zagreb, Croatia; Vilnius, Lithuania; Athens, Greece; and Rome, Italy, all with the involvement of respective national and local governments and cultural bodies.
