Spouse of Holocaust Survivor Fund

The Spouse of Holocaust Survivor Fund is open to spouses of deceased recipients of the Claims Conference’s Article 2, Region-Specific Pension or Central and Eastern European (CEEF) pension funds.

To be eligible, the claimant

  • (i) Must have been married to the Article 2, RSP or CEE Fund beneficiary at the time they passed away
  • (ii) Be alive as of January 1, 2020, or the date of the application, whichever is the latter.

All other heirs are not eligible to file an application.

The spouse of Holocaust survivor must be alive at the time of payment; other heirs, including children, are not entitled to receive any payment in lieu of the spouse.

Recipients of an Israeli Ministry of Finance widow/er pension of Holocaust survivors are not eligible for the Spouse of Holocaust Survivor Fund.

Surviving spouses who are eligible may receive a payment for a period of up to 9 months to aid them with funeral expenses, living expenses and other financial adjustments. However, this payment is not an ongoing pension payment beyond the nine months.
