Spouse of Holocaust Survivor Fund

The Spouse of Holocaust Survivor Fund is open to spouses of deceased recipients of the Claims Conference’s Article 2 or Central and Eastern European (CEEF) pension funds.

To be eligible, the claimant

  • (i) Must have been married to the Article 2/CEE Fund beneficiary at the time they passed away
  • (ii) Be alive as of January 1, 2020, or the date of the application, whichever is the latter.

All other heirs are not eligible to file an application.

The spouse of Holocaust survivor must be alive at the time of payment, other heirs, including children, are not entitled to receive any payment in lieu of the spouse.

Recipients of an Israeli Ministry of Finance widow/er pension of Holocaust survivors are not eligible for the Spouse of Holocaust Survivor Fund.

The Spouse of Holocaust Survivor Fund will open January 1, 2020. Eligible claimants can receive three quarterly payments of 1,800 EUR.

This payment is not an ongoing pension payment.

Monthly pensions under the Claims Conference Article 2 and Central and Eastern European Funds, often a major source of a couple’s income, ended when the survivor passed. This new agreement will allow a surviving spouse, as of January 1, 2020, to receive a payment for a period of 9 months to aid them with funeral expenses, living expenses and other financial adjustments.
