Regional Pension Institutions

Applicants can apply informally to the DRV-Bund (German Pension Insurance System) for their pension to be reviewed or make a new informal application for a pension. The DRV-Bund will forward the application to the relevant insurance authority who will then contact the applicant.

The German Social Insurance system was re-organized in October 2005 and is now overseen by the central Federal Pension Insurance Association (Deutsche Rentenversicherung Bund). The regional pension institutions – formally known as the Landesversicherungsanstalten or LVA - have new names.

Residents of European Union may submit claim requests through their local Pension Insurance institution.
The Claims Conference continues to monitor the implementation of the Ghetto pension law and is actively engaged (in collaboration with the government of Israel and US legislators) in pressing the German authorities for interpretation of the law that would allow the greatest number of survivors possible to receive this pension.
