The Foundation was established in 1999 to determine entitlement to compensation for Holocaust-era Dutch insurance policies. Applicants may apply through the International Commission on Holocaust Era Insurance Claims (ICHEIC), or directly through the Dutch Foundation.

In mid-1999 the Central Jewish Council and the Foundation Israel Platform reached an agreement with the Dutch banks to investigate outstanding credit balances of Jewish victims of Nazi persecution in Dutch banks. A list of 3322 Holocaust-era dormant bank accounts was identified.

Foundation for Individual Securities Claims

The Foundation for Individual Securities Claims Shoah was established by the Jewish Community in the Netherlands to award three types of refunds on commissions once levied.
The 1953 “Restoration of Securities Rights Guarantee Fund” had refunded 90% of the value of securities stolen by the Nazis to rightful Jewish owners. The foundation now awarded the remaining 10%. The deadline to apply was December 31, 2002.
The Foundation has a list of names (the Puttkammer List) of Jews who surrendered jewelry to Puttkammer in the hopes of avoiding deportation. Puttkammer charged a commission for this “service.” The deadline to apply for a refund was December 31, 2002.
Jewish clients were charged by banks for having to break open their safe deposit boxes. The Foundation is reimbursing these charges. The deadline to apply is June 30, 2003.

The Maror Fund

Dormant Bank Accounts in Israel
A report by the parliamentary committee investigating Holocaust-era dormant bank accounts in Israel ("Report of the Knesset Inquiry Committee on the Location and Restitution of the Assets of Holocaust Victims," Committee Chairperson MK Colette Avital) has been posted on the internet.
