Scholarships Available for Relatives and Descendants of Victims of Nazi Persecution

In the academic year 2006/2007 the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin is offering again 30 scholarships, endowed by the "Remembrance and Future" Fund and in cooperation with Free University Berlin, University of Technology Berlin, Berlin University of the Arts and Berlin School of Economics.

The "Remembrance and Future" Fund supports projects that promote international understanding, the interests of survivors of the Nazi regime, student exchange, social justice, international cooperation in humanitarian matters, and deal with the threat of totalitarian systems and tyranny.

Berlin-Scholarships may be awarded to students of all courses, in particular to students from Central and Eastern Europe, the GUS/CIS-States, Israel and the USA. Relatives and descendants of victims of forced labour and other victims of the Nazi regime are especially invited to apply.

Recipients of the scholarships scheme will have the opportunity to complete their submitted course of study in two semesters and to that end may attend courses at the Humboldt-Universität, or one if its partner universities.

In addition, scholarship holders will team-work in small groups in a project entitled "The Role of the Media in Trans-national Relations" during their stay.
